Contacts – You can contact us on (01884) 35018. The Pre-school mobile number is 07927057415. We can also be contacted at admin@cullomptonpreschool.org Our website address is www.cullomptonpreschool.org See our website for general information and our weekly blog and photos of what children have been doing and learning. ‘Like’ us on Facebook to see regular updates of our session activities. Don’t forget to check Tapestry for info and updates too!
Our next committee meetings will take place at 7.30 pm on Monday 30th March and Monday 11th May via Zoom. Meetings are open to all parents, we would welcome your support. If you would like to join the meeting, please let us know in the office and we will send you a link.
Sept 2026 – We will be starting to complete our register for September 2026 very soon!! We will be speaking to families on our waiting list and e-mailing our Induction process to them shortly. If you have a younger sibling or know someone who may want to join us, please collect a registration form from the office or you can download one from our website.
Poorly Children – If your child appears to be under the weather please consider if they are well enough to cope with a busy session/day at pre-school before sending them in. Please do not send your child/children to pre-school if they have a raised temperature. A quiet sofa day at home is very different from a busy pre-school session. Important information for parents:-
- Please do not send your child back to pre-school until 48 hours after the last bout of sickness/diarrhoea.
- Please do not send your child back to pre-school for at least 24 hours after their fever ends.
- If antibiotics are prescribed, please allow 48 hours from the start of treatment before returning to pre-school to allow for an allergic reaction.
Absence line – we have a dedicated absence line on our main telephone number which is regularly checked. Please clearly leave your name, your child’s name and the reason for their absence, this is important info we require to monitor any illnesses that are circulating.
Don’t forget to check out our weekly blog on our website and on Tapestry! It’s full of information about our sessions across the week with lots of photos of our many activities. We send most of our information via Tapestry and email, so please make sure you have notifications turned on for Tapestry so you don’t miss anything!
We’d like to say thank you to the helpers that kindly came with us on our visits to the Library with the Sun & Moon groups recently. We hoped you enjoyed it as much as the children did!
We really appreciate any help with our trips that are planned, we cannot do it without your help so keep an eye out for any future trips via Tapestry!
Nurture
We run lots of small groups here at pre-school during the day which support us to nurture the children. We believe very much in caring and nurturing and helping the children through any hard times with learning or behaviour or friendships or confidence. Our small groups are perfect, and very very popular! My team and I chat about how the children are getting on all the time, sharing news from their key person, talking about development and progress and who is doing well and who may need a little bit of quiet time with us.
In the groups we play games, talk, learn about emotions, take turns, choose friends, explore rules, make friends, draw, enjoy books and use the growing garden as well as a place for nurturing children and our bulbs! Our groups for next half term will be for children who will benefit from building confidence to chat in larger groups, speech and language letter sounds, children who find it hard to choose an activity to join in with and some Maths work too.
We will let you know if your child is in a nurture group and why and share how they are getting along – sometimes we use the groups to explore where they are with maths or literacy as some children prefer to share their ideas and knowledge in quiet time rather than circle time.
We often have lots of children asking to join us so we try to include everyone over the course of a half term so they all feel special.
If you have any questions please let me know
Amelia
Bottom of Form
We are excited to have arranged another collection with Bag2School for 4th June 2026 at Preschool! Bag2School is a fundraising scheme that raises funds through textile recycling. Bag2School will collect unwanted fabrics/textiles from Preschool which in turn raises money for us! This is an opportunity to sort through your cupboards and wardrobes and donate unwanted textiles in the bags provided (these bags will be available from the office in due course). This can include adults’ and children’s clothes, shoes (tied together please), hats, belts, handbags and soft toys, (please refer to https://bag2school.com for full details). In addition to raising much needed funds it will also raise awareness amongst the children of the benefits of recycling and reuse. We will be putting the bags out in the office area when we received them.
Our last collection made £60 which is amazing! This helps us buy day to day resources for Pre-school so thank you to everyone that donated.
It’s time for our sponsored bike ride at Pre-school!
It is being held this week! 16th March -20th March 2026.
Hopefully completing the children’s sponsor forms are going well with all our families!
Just a reminder that completed sponsor forms should have been handed in to Pre-school last week, so if you still have your child’s sponsor form at home, please bring it into Pre-school asap!
Once you child has done their bike ride, we will hand the sponsor form back to you so monies can be collected from your family and friends. You can pay the total amount your child has raised by bank transfer into our Fundraising Account or by cash (please hand this into office in a sealed envelope with your child’s name on). The sponsor form then needs to be handed back into Pre-school so we can process the gift aid claims etc. Please put a note on the sponsor form that payment has been paid, the date it was paid and whether it is cash or bank transfer.
Thank you very much for all your support!! And we are looking forward to welcoming the parent volunteers to help us during the week!
Red Nose Day is on Friday 20th March this year!
We will be joining in with the fundraising by welcoming the children and staff who attend on that day to wear red! We will have a pot in the reception area for £1 donations.
