Contacts – You can contact us on (01884) 35018. The Pre-school mobile number is 07927057415. We can also be contacted at admin@cullomptonpreschool.org Our website address is www.cullomptonpreschool.org See our website for general information and our weekly blog and photos of what children have been doing and learning. ‘Like’ us on Facebook to see regular updates of our session activities.
Our next committee meetings will take place at 7.30 pm on Monday 31st March and Monday 12th May 2025 via Zoom. Meetings are open to all parents, we would welcome your support. If you would like to join the meeting, please let us know in the office and we will send you a link.
Sept 2025 – We are now starting to complete our register for September 2025 and speaking to families on our waiting list and e-mailing our Induction process to them. If you have a younger sibling or know someone who may want to join us please collect a registration form from the office or you can download one from our website.
Poorly Children – If your child appears to be under the weather please consider if they are well enough to cope with a busy session/day at pre-school before sending them in. Please do not send your child/children to pre-school if they have a raised temperature. A quiet sofa day at home is very different from a busy pre-school session. Important information for parents:-
- Please do not send your child back to pre-school until 48 hours after the last bout of sickness/diarrhoea.
- Please do not send your child back to pre-school for at least 24 hours after their fever ends.
- If antibiotics are prescribed, please allow 48 hours from the start of treatment before returning to pre-school to allow for an allergic reaction.
Absence line – we have a dedicated absence line on our main telephone number which is regularly checked. Please clearly leave your name, your child’s name and the reason for their absence. If your child is poorly, please give details of their specific ailment so that we can record the reason for your child’s absence.
Don’t forget to check out our weekly blog on our website and log into Tapestry! It’s full of information about our sessions across the week with lots of photos of our many activities.
We’d like to say a big thank you to the Shere family (including Grandad and the boys!) for tiding up our garden, pruning our apple tree and fixing our broken fence post. You all did a great job and we really appreciate the help so thank you!
Nurture
We run lots of small groups here at pre-school during the day which support us to nurture the children. We believe very much in caring and nurturing and helping the children through any hard times with learning or behaviour or friendships or confidence. Our small groups are perfect, and very very popular! My team and I chat about how the children are getting on all the time, sharing news from their key person, talking about development and progress and who is doing well and who may need a little bit of quiet time with us.
In the groups we play games, talk, learn about emotions, take turns, choose friends, explore rules, make friends, draw, enjoy books and use the growing garden as well as a place for nurturing children and our bulbs! Our groups for next half term will be for children who are making new friendships, children who find it hard to choose what to play with, children who struggle to manage their feelings sometimes, children who are a bit shy in a large circle time and children who need a little bit of quiet time away from the busy free flow and also groups of children who need a bit of direction to ensure their play stays on track when it can be hard to take turns.
We will let you know if your child is in a nurture group and why and share how they are getting along – sometimes we use the groups to explore where they are with maths or literacy as some children prefer to share their ideas and knowledge in quiet time rather than circle time.
We often have lots of children asking to join us so we try to include everyone over the course of a half term so they all feel special.
If you have any questions please let me know

Tip Run – If any of our families are doing a ‘tip run’ soon and would be willing to take some items for pre-school we would be very grateful. Please let the office know if you can help.
Our Easter Bingo is on Saturday 29th March, doors open at 6:30pm and eyes down at 7:30pm.
We hope to see you all there and hopefully win some lovely prizes! If you are able to help donate towards our prizes, there is a list of items on our lunch trolley, we would be very grateful.
We are excited to have arranged another collection with Bag2School for 16th May 2025 at Preschool. Bag2School is a fundraising scheme that raises funds through textile recycling. Bag2School will collect unwanted fabrics/textiles from Preschool which in turn raises money for us! This is an opportunity to sort through your cupboards and wardrobes and donate unwanted textiles in the bags provided (these bags will be available from the office in due course). This can include adults’ and children’s clothes, shoes (tied together please), hats, belts, handbags and soft toys, (please refer to https://bag2school.com for full details). In addition to raising much needed funds it will also raise awareness amongst the children of the benefits of recycling and reuse. We will be putting the bags out in the office area when we received them. Our last collection made £70 which is amazing and helps us buy day to day resources for Preschool.
Almost all of our children have completed their sponsored Bike Ride at Preschool now. They have done such a brilliant job and should be very proud of themselves! We know we are proud of them!
If you haven’t already, we would be very grateful if any sponsorship money could be paid either online to our bank account (details at the bottom of the sponsor form) or by cash handed into the office. We also require the sponsor form to be handed back into us as well please.
Once the sponsor forms and payment have been made/handed into us, your child will get a certificate congratulating them on completing their bike ride and raising money for Preschool! Thank you!
Also thank you very much to the parents/grandparents that helped us supervise and cheer on the children doing their sponsored Bike Ride last week!
There is a Facebook page set up by our committee members who are also parents, called ‘Parents of Cullompton Pre-School’. If you would like to join/follow simply scan the QR code – it will take you straight to the correct Facebook page.
FOREST SCHOOL
Forest School swapped over for our Sun and Moon Groups since February Half Term on Thursday and Friday mornings. Each half term we swap the groups over so every child in those groups will be able to enjoy Forest School.
