Summer Term Week 10

Hello,

I hope everyone has had a good week. Pre School life is back to normal this week, well as normal as it can be!! There has been a lot less wet clothes and hot children – but I hear we have another heatwave on the way, although not as hot this time. We will put the gazebo up again and keep the children as cool as we can.

We have continued with our ice cream shop role play this week, the children have been using chocolate scented playdough to scoop ice cream into their cones and adding sequin sprinkles to them, along with colouring in ice pictures using the colours of their favourite flavour ice creams.

Outside we have been doing lots of football craft, marking up the football results on the board and seeing which teams have been knocked out. The giant sand pit has been a great success, we will be continuing this next week as well.

To go alongside the sand we will have babies and the home corner outside – we will be washing the babies and clothes and having picnics!

Inside we will be cooking in the morning and have sensory trays in the afternoon along with mark making trays.

On Wednesday we had a visit from Carol who came to do a story massage session with the children before lunch, it is a lovely calm activity and they remembered exactly what they needed to do.

On Thursday we had a football session with Harry, the Moons and Stars went out while the Suns were at Forest School. The Moons knew what to expect but it was the first time the Stars had been out and they did fantastically well – Harry was very impressed by them and how well they listened and followed the instructions. I’m hoping he might be available to come in again over the next few weeks.

We have been busy getting the graduation photos finished, there are a few transition documents to be finished and then signed by parents and the staff are working hard on getting the special books all finished in time for graduation. The children have also been busy practising songs for the graduation days!

We hope to see as many of you as possible at the fete tomorrow, if you can lend a hand on one of the stalls for a bit it would be much appreciated, but if not don’t worry. Please come and enjoy a lovely day here!
