Summer Term Week 9

Hi,

What a week!! Firstly I wanted to thank you all for being so flexible this week with the changes in opening times. We never like to close but as I’m sure you noticed at pick up times our building gets extremely hot. Our main priority, as always, is to keep the children safe while they are in our care.

The children have had a great time despite everyone around them melting! We have had lots of water play – paddling pools, sprinklers, cold sprays, water trays with toys in and perfume potion trays. We’ve also made a beach which has also been popular.

We have had a few session visits, it’s been lovely to meet some of the new children. Transition documents are being finished, Sarah will let you know when they ready to read and sign. It would be great if you could add a small comment in the box to say how your child had progressed while at Pre School – thank you.

Our normal routine hasn’t happened this week, we have had stories and singing in the shady parts of the garden and ice cream shop role play.

We have been very lucky to have had ice lollies donated to us and the children have really enjoyed these!

All our planning for this week is going to be repeated next week when the temperatures drop.

I’m sure you’re all aware it is our Summer Fete next Saturday (4th July) and it would be really lovely to see you all there. We have a great “pick your own prize” raffle, tickets are available in reception for this. If you have any tickets, please could you drop them into the office as soon as possible? It’s always a great day – we will have a bouncy castle, tombola, lucky dip, treasure map, bonus ball lotto, hook a duck, beat the goalie, cake stall, BBQ and bar – and our main fundraising event of the year. The money from these events goes on new resources and equipment for the children.

I hope that you all have a lovely weekend and that the heat subsides!

Thank you,
Louise
