Summer Term Week 11
Hi everyone,
Hope you’ve all had a good week. We have coped a little better this week with the heat and again the children have been amazing!
We have been playing with the babies outside, giving them baths and washing their clothes which has in turn kept them cooler. The sand pit has proved popular again, and because it is on a tarpaulin we have been able to chase the shade. We have tried to put up as many sun shades as possible as well to help create as many shady areas as possible.
Inside we have been cooking, the children have made pizzas, bread and biscuits in the morning and have eaten these for afternoon snack and in the afternoon we have had different sensory trays – train tracks with green rice was a favourite!
At circle times we have been talking about emotions and how the children are feeling. They have drawn their faces using polypockets to trace over their friends facial expressions, played emotions card games (matching facial expressions) and lots of talking about them – one little girl said she was worried about going to school, when I asked why she said “I’m worried that I’ll get home work and that I’ll get a D!!” – I reassured her that this wouldn’t be the case!
The stars have enjoyed Forest School again this week, while the Suns and Moons have had an animal experience with Animals 2 U. Yesterday they saw some little hamsters, a bearded dragon and cockroaches!! Not sure what she will bring today, but I’m looking forward to hearing all about it.
Can’t believe that we are going into our last week of term, this time next week we’ll be getting ready for our final graduation and saying goodbye to the children.
We have decided that we are going to have a week with no planning and we will follow the children’s lead and the ladies will do the most popular circles from the past year and we’ll have lots of fun – all the special books are being finished, photos being printed, transitions off to the schools and certificates being filled – so we will have lots of time to spend with the children.
This afternoon after Pre School we will be selling ice poles and some of the items left over from the fete.
Thank you and I hope you all have a good weekend,
Louise
