Summer Term Week 6

Hi All,

Another busy week here, dodging the showers!

We had a donation from B&Q during half term of some plants which the children have helped Claire plant to brighten up the Pre School, they have really enjoyed getting their hands in the compost, watering the plants and helping to transport the pots and baskets together.

Tennis sessions happened again on Monday and Tuesday (inside on Tuesday though!), we are looking into more sports sessions and I’ll keep you up to date on this.

Outside we have set up a Costa Coffee Shop, the children helped Michelle make a coffee machine, they have been baristas, taken orders and enjoyed dressing up in some Costa uniform we were donated. We are going to continue this next week as it has been very successful. We have also being using musical instruments and learning new songs.

Inside we have had construction using various different things – large wooden block, Duplo, Mobilo and large interlocking shapes. We have also been painting, using scissors and gluing.

Circle times we have been looking at rhyming, The Stars have had rhyming stories and songs and the Suns & Moons have played various rhyming games using pictures, toys and the computer. They are really good at hearing the rhyme and suggesting words that rhyme!

Our caterpillars also arrived this week, so next week we will be looking at how they develop. We have planned lots of Hungry Caterpillar craft and sensory trays. Circle times will be looking at letters and fine motor skills.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Thank you, Louise
