Autumn Term 2026 – Week 3

Another week of Pre School is complete and it has been another busy one with lots of lovely learning and conversations!

This week we have learning about people who help us and the children’s knowledge has amazed us all! They have been able to tell us what the police, fire and ambulance services do, some talked about life boats and guards, vets that help our pets, teachers and the “man that looks in your mouth!”

We also talked about our families, picked out people figures for family members are drew the people and pets that live in our houses – they pictures are up on the board in the Moon room.

In the Sun Room we have been using clay, setting up small world trays about families and jobs, and we have had a cake shop role play area. All the areas have been really busy as has the outside area. Here we have had the home corner again and have added laundry and washing up to it – they are all very keen on ironing and hoovering so hopefully as they get older they might want to help you at home!!

We have also has water and sand out this week again. They children have been using the new pump water tray, the pump is hard to push so it is building up their arm muscles nicely!

Next week we are going to start looking at harvest and will be setting up a farm shop outside. We would really appreciate it if you could send in any empty food packaging (preferably cardboard) so that we can stock our shelves, thank you.

We would also be grateful if over the next week the children could collect some dried leaves, conkers and pine cones if you are out and about. These are to use in sensory and Autumn themed trays.

Stories are also on the planning which carries on from having story sacks out every morning this week. We will be reading stories, listening to stories on out Yoto boxes and CDs and using our EAL (English as an additional language) app on the Ipads (this will be supervised by an adult at all times). If your children have a favourite story let me know and I will see if we have it and add it to the list of books we read.

I hope you have a great weekend, all the ladies are of out tomorrow as a final retirement celebration for Mandy!

See you all next week,
Louise
