Autumn Term 2026 – Week 1
Hi Everyone,
Welcome back to last year’s parents and hello to our new parents!
Every Friday I write a report on what we have been doing this week at Pre School along with a gallery of photos – sometime we have so many photos I have to send 2 observations as I can only load 100 photos per observation.
This week we have been getting to know all the new children, and welcoming back last year’s children. Everyone has settled in so well and we are very proud of them all. There have already been new friendships made and we have had a really wonderful week.
Our theme this half term is “All About Us”, I have put some of the activities we are going to cover on the board outside of reception along with the Forest School planning for the next 3 weeks. I will keep the board up to date so that you know what we will be covering with the children. If you have any questions please let me know. I have saved a copy of the year plan and termly planning in the documents section on here and a copy is on the board to the right of the front door.
At circle times we have been learning each other’s names and talking about the routine and some of our rules. Next week we are going to start looking into emotions with the Suns and Moons, and the Stars are going to do action songs and movement.
The children have enjoyed our new free flow play, we have changed things a bit this year and it has made for a lovely, calm environment. They have been playing with playdough, building in the construction zone, drawing, playing with cause and effect toys and having teddy bear picnics.
Outside they have been exploring the garden, playing with coloured water, looking after babies and using different toys in the sand tray.
Next week inside we will have music and dancing, gloop and emotions trays. Outside we are extending the baby role play to include the home corner and we will have water and sand trays with different activities in each day.
We hope all the children have enjoyed their first week and we look forward to seeing them again next week.
Have a great weekend,
Louise
