We will be celebrating cultures and languages throughout your child’s time here at our pre-school and valuing all celebrations and religions and respecting differences between us.
We will cover so many different areas and we value your input and support to do so – we listen to music from around the world, look a photos, create buildings and look at art from around the world and learn about our planet and our countries as part of our every day teaching.
We have a giant map that we use as a base and we start to learn about our planet and differences in environments and people and infrastructure and ideas and languages.
We use a book translation service to ensure that children can hear their own home language in our setting and we use our own “My Culture” sheet to record info that is vital to us learning about all of our families.
The current languages that are spoken by our families are – Spanish, Turkish, Polish, Latvian, Portugese, Malayalam, Mandarin and English.
