Meet The Staff

Pre-school Leader – Amelia Joyner

Amelia joined Cullompton Pre School in July 2014 but has been involved with pre schools since 2006. She started as  a volunteer first as treasurer and then chair of Little Owls in North Devon and brings this business knowledge with her to the role of pre-school leader. Amelia started training to be an Early Years teacher in Sept 2013 and qualified (level 6 qualification) in July 2014. Amelia came to Cullompton Pre School with a broad background, excellent knowledge in child development from babyhood upwards, lots of Ofsted and DCC experience and lots of ideas and vision. Amelia has recently been working with the Department of Education on a COVID recovery project and has led our setting through two Ofsted Inspections – both resulting in an Outstanding Judgement of which we are very proud. Amelia’s passions include safeguarding children, giving every child the best chance and parental involvement. Amelia is our behaviour support officer and our safeguarding officer. Outside work Amelia loves running, walking, cooking and seeing friends.


Deputy Pre-school Leader / Senco – Andrea Parker

Andrea joined us in April 2015. She worked in childcare for 7 years in the first part of her working career, working with children 0-5. She then had a career change and started working at the RD&E Wonford Hospital progressing to assistant nurse practitioner and holding a higher professional diploma in health and well being. Her passions are working with SEN children. In her spare time she loves baking, camping and socialising.

 


Administration Manager – Mandy Goff

Mandy has been with the pre-school since 2000. Mandy holds the NVQ level 3 in business and administration. Mandy works very closely with the committee, supporting them to run the pre-school efficiently and helping to raise much needed funds. In her free time she enjoys singing in the local choir, being with her family and going on family holidays.

 


Pre-school Assistant – Liz Beaton

Liz has been with the pre-school since 2007. Liz holds the NVQ level 3 in children’s care, learning and development. In her free time she enjoys power walking, reading and listening to music.

 


Pre-school Assistant – Louise Curtis

Louise has been with the pre-school since 2009. Louise holds the NVQ level 3 in CACHE certificate for children and young peoples workforce. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, walking the family dog, caravanning and watching tv.

 


Pre-school Assistant – Louise Waring

Louise joined us in November 2015. She previously enjoyed being a full time mum to her young son. Louise completed her NVQ level 3 in childcare. Louise is now undertaking a Leadership course in Early Years and is working hard on her coursework. In her spare time Louise likes sewing and crafting, meeting up with friends and family and going on holiday.

 


Pre-school Assistant – Sophie Held

Sophie joined us in September 2017. Sophie has a Level 3 qualification and is also Level 3 Forest School trained and runs our Forest School sessions here at pre-school. In her spare time she likes to bake cakes with her children, go on long muddy walks and spend quality time with her friends and family.

 


Pre-school Assistant – Michelle Harris

Michelle joined us in September 2017. She always wanted to work with children since she was a little girl and my dream came true. She has worked in childcare for 17 years since leaving college with a level 3 childcare diploma. She has worked with all ages up to 15 years old, gaining experience and qualifications on the way. She has a Level 4 in childhood studies and also a level 3 in Play work. Michelle has had many roles in her time working with children, making her way up to deputy manager level which has been a massive achievement in her last setting. Michelle is now our Deputy Safeguarding Officer and has also completed a brilliant course for her professional development called Early Years PDP.  In her spare time she loves spending time with her family and keeping fit with boxing boot camps.

 

Pre-school Assistant  –  Eva Mills

Eva joined us in January 2020 and completed her Level 2 qualification while working with us. She enjoys reading stories with the children and playing outside in the gardens with them and carrying out nurture work in small groups.

 

                                 

Pre-school Assistant – Jackie Haddican  

Jackie joined us in February 2020 after working as an early years TA and then a Family Support Worker at Willowbank school. She has level 3 qualification in Childhood studies and is Thrive qualified. Jackie likes yoga, zumba, cycling and spending time with family and friends.

 

 

Pre-school Assistant – Claire Harris

 

Claire joined us in October 2021 after working in Kuwait as a TA in early years for over 11 years. She relocated back to the UK and found her dream home in Cullompton. Claire holds the Level 3 Cache qualification in Children’s & Young-peoples workforce and is passionate about children’s learning through having the best play experience ever. You will find her making mud pies, a sparkly potion, a gooey painted picture, a quiet story, supporting outside and inside play. Claire loves seeing her veggies and fruits grow in the garden. She tries to stay fit & love the great outdoors walking her dog. When she is sitting down, she finds great pleasure in knitting & crocheting, making toys for her grandchildren who she visits as much as she can.

 

Pre-school Assistant – Jade Henry

Jade joined us in October 2021 and supports our activities and also children around the setting who have SEN and inclusion funding and in her spare time she loves to spend time with her family and friends, walk her 2 crazy dogs and baking with her children. 

 

Pre-school Assistant – Zoe Peek

Zoe joined us in February 2024 as a Pre School Assistant with inclusion support as well. Zoe did her work experience at Cullompton Pre School when she was 16 and came to work here when she was 17, her first job in childcare! Zoe was here for 15 years before moving to St Andrews working with SEN children mostly. After some happy years there, Zoe has now returned to Early Years and is a key person and working with children who ned extra support. Zoe loves baking and being a Nana, spending lots of time with her family in her spare time.

 

Lunchtime – Pre-school Assistant – Beth Adcock

 

I have a level 2 in Health and social care and have been in that line of work since 2013 but fancied a new venture in looking after children. I am a happy mummy to four beautiful boys that have all passed through Pre school doors. 

 

Lunchtime – Pre-school Assistant – Misbah Ghouri

 

Misbah joined pre school in Feb- 2024 as a lunchtime assistant and does a day as our housekeeper too. She loves to spend time with children. Misbah also loves to do cooking and enjoy making variety of food for children of different age groups.

 

Housekeeper –  Sarah Turner

Sarah started with us in October 2018. Sarah supports the staff with preparing snack, setting our lunch sessions and general housekeeping. Sarah has recently started cooking some lovely healthy snacks for the children to enjoy and it makes the pre-school smell amazing. In her free time Sarah loves to spend time with her family, baking and paddle boarding.

 


Cleaner – Louise Partridge

Louise has been with the pre-school since 2010. She does a fantastic job in cleaning our facilities to a high standard. In her spare time she likes spending time with her family, going for country walks and eating out.

 

Cleaner – Hannah Partridge

 

Hannah joined us in June 2016 and provides support for Louise.
